Data protection
The following is a machine-translated version of the German original. The German original is legally binding.
1 Scope of the privacy policy
This privacy policy applies to APPAGIC and all tools managed via APPAGIC (helfereinsatz.ch, evagic.com, etc.). Swiss data protection law (DSG) applies. Any additional applicable law from the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is specifically noted.
2 Processing of personal data; type, purpose and use thereof
2.1 When visiting the website
When you visit our websites (https://www.appagic.com, https://www.evagic.com, https://www.helfereinsatz.ch, etc.), information is temporarily stored in log files on our server. This is information that your device's browser automatically sends. Specifically:
- IP address of the contacting device
- Date and time
- URL of the page accessed
- Amount of data sent in bytes
- Referrer URL
- Browser and other device information
We process the aforementioned data for the following purposes:
- Connecting to the website
- Use of our website
- System security and stability
- Statistical analysis
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from reasons of IT security, statistical analysis and website improvement. However, the website operator reserves the right to subsequently review the server log files if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.
Data processing is carried out at your request and is necessary for the purposes mentioned in Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR for the fulfilment of the contract and pre-contractual measures.
You have given your consent to the described data processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
2.2 EVAGIC: Registration for an event
When you register for an event on evagic.com, the data you enter is stored. The organisation hosting the event can determine which data is stored for event registration. Your data is processed by the organisation hosting the event for the purpose of organising the event.
If the event in question is part of a series of events, the organisations hosting the event series will also have access to your registration data. For the purpose of hosting the event, it may be useful or necessary for the organising organisations to contact you by email. By registering for the event, you consent to receiving such information.
You have the option of deciding whether the organising organisations may send you information about future events. If you agree, these organisations may send you emails with information in the future. You can withdraw or re-grant this consent at any time in your user profile.
In your user profile, you have access to all events for which you have registered. This access is provided via a password link that is sent to your email address. This link will be sent to you when you register for an event or when you explicitly request this access link. This access link is also stored in the PDF as a QR code. Treat all versions of the access link with care.
2.3 VOLAGIC: Helper
When you register as a volunteer for an organisation, we store your data (surname, first name, email address, telephone number (if applicable), date of birth (if applicable), gender (if applicable), T-shirt size (if applicable) and other information (if applicable)) so that we can deploy you as effectively as possible in your role as a volunteer. By registering as a volunteer, you consent to the organisation processing this information and contacting you by email and telephone if necessary. The organisation may compile various reports on the number and type of assignments you have completed.
Once you are registered as a volunteer, you can log in with your email address. If someone knows your email address, they could log in on your behalf. This would allow them to find out the location and time of your volunteer assignments. However, they would not have access to your telephone number or other data.
2.4 DIRAGIC
When you visit a DIRAGIC directory, we only store the general data that is collected for logging purposes every time you access a website (IP address, browser data, etc.). If you submit feedback to DIRAGIC, we will ask for your name and email address. We need this information in order to process your request.
DIRAGIC manages and imports data on events, venues and organisations. This data is usually communicated publicly by the providers so that interested parties can contact them.
We store the names and email addresses of DIRAGIC account administrators. We also store information about who edited which data and when for the purpose of tracking data changes.
2.5 APPAGIC: Users
Organisations that use APPAGIC tools can designate users who have access to certain administrative functions. To ensure that users are correctly identified, we store the first and last names of all users. Your email address is used for identification purposes. Your telephone number can be stored in the system so that other users can contact you. To make it easier to identify you, it is possible to upload a profile picture.
In order to be able to track why data has been deleted or changed, we create a log of certain actions. This log stores which user performed which action. This allows us to tell you, for example, who last edited certain content.
As a user of our apps, we reserve the right to inform you about updates and news at irregular intervals. You can unsubscribe from this information at any time. However, by doing so, you explicitly waive your right to be informed about information relevant to you regarding our services.
3 Disclosure of data to third parties (including joint controllers and processors)
Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed.
3.1 Contract execution
To the extent permitted by law under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR and necessary for the performance of contractual relationships with you, your personal data will be disclosed to third parties. This includes, in particular, the disclosure of payment data, communication data and analysis data. The disclosed data may only be used by third parties for the purposes specified.
4 Cookies
We use cookies (session cookies as well as temporary and permanent cookies) on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our site. A cookie does not necessarily mean that we can identify you.
Cookies are used to log the frequency of use, number of users and behaviour on our website, to increase the security of website use and to make our information offering more user-friendly. Session cookies are necessary for the operation of the website. These cookies are automatically deleted when you leave the website.
In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimise user-friendliness, which are stored on your device for a specific period of time. If you visit our site again to use our services, it will automatically recognise that you have already been with us and what entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again.
You can configure your browser settings so that no cookies are stored on your computer. Completely disabling cookies may mean that you cannot use all the features of our website.
By continuing to use our website and/or agreeing to this privacy policy, you consent to us setting cookies and thus collecting, storing and using personal usage data, even after the end of your browser session. You can revoke this consent at any time by activating the browser setting to refuse third-party cookies.
5 Analysis tools
5.1 Google Analytics
Our website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics from Google Inc., USA. Google Analytics uses cookies (see Cookies). These enable Google in the USA to analyse the use of our website. Google truncates IP addresses within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. This means that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. Google uses the information collected to evaluate the use of our websites for us, to compile reports for us in this regard and to provide us with other related services. You can find out more at https://policies.google.com/privacy, in particular regarding the option of deactivating Google Analytics at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the continuous optimisation of our offering.
5.2 Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel)
Our website uses the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Inc. (USA), formerly Facebook Inc. The Meta Pixel enables us to track user behaviour on our website in order to evaluate and optimise the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements. This allows us to ensure that our Facebook advertisements are only shown to users who have shown an interest in our offerings. In addition, the Meta Pixel can transmit information about user activities to Meta to enable targeted advertising on Meta services such as Facebook or Instagram.
The data collected is anonymous to us and does not allow us to identify users. However, Meta may link the data to your Facebook account and use it for its own advertising purposes in accordance with Meta's data policy. You can disable Meta Pixel tracking and the use of your data for targeted advertising in your Facebook account settings at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.
The legal basis for processing the data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in optimising and tailoring our advertising measures.
6 Newsletter
When you subscribe to the newsletter and confirm your subscription (double opt-in), the following personal data is processed: surname, first name, email address. The data is processed for the purpose of authenticating the subscriber during registration and sending the subscriber a newsletter, as well as determining whether and when they have opened it and individual articles within it.
We use third-party services to send emails and newsletters. You can find the providers on our ‘Subcontractors’ page. This data is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time, for example via the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. Data processing operations that have already taken place remain unaffected by the revocation. When we send newsletters, we can determine whether a newsletter has been opened and which links have been clicked on. If you do not want this analysis, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

- Request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you can request information about the purposes of processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, deletion, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right of appeal, the origin of your data if it was not collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling and, where applicable, meaningful information about its details (Art. 15 GDPR). In the latter case, you have a general right to object, which we will implement without you having to specify a particular situation.
9 Data security
APPAGIC applications are generally secured using SSL encryption. APPAGIC user accounts are password-protected for authentication purposes. Passwords are stored in encrypted form, meaning that we cannot view them. Our employees are familiar with the most important principles of data protection and are bound by internal data protection guidelines. We have defined technical and organisational measures to ensure the highest possible level of protection for your personal data.
